Day 1. Arrival at Kigali international airport, Meet and greet assistance you shall be connected to our Safe Hands Safaris representative with a warm welcome, transfer to your Hotel, assist you to check in and  brief you about your entire safari as well. Overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel.

Day2. City tour and transfer to Nyungwe national Park.

After breakfast you will check out and do a city tour starting from Visiting Kigali Genocide memorial

The Kigali Genocide Memorial is a place of remembrance and learning for the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. It is a powerful and moving experience to visit the memorial and learn about the causes, course and consequences of the genocide.

The memorial site is located in Kigali. It includes a museum, a mass grave, and a memorial garden. The museum tells the story of the genocide, from its origins to its aftermath. It includes exhibits on the planning and execution of the genocide, as well as the experiences of survivors.

After Genocide memorial you can visit campaign against genocide memorial to lean how Rwanda Patriotic front (RPA) stopped Genocide against Tutsi in 1994.

Campaign against genocide memorial:

The Campaign against Genocide Museum in Kigali, Rwanda, tells the story of the Rwandan Patriotic Army’s (RPA) campaign to stop the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. The museum highlights the role of the RPA in planning and executing the campaign, as well as the contributions of individual soldiers and civilians.

After this memorable experience, you shall have a lunch at Soye/Republic restaurant. Then transfer to Nyungwe national park. It is a journey of 4hours where you will be assisted to check in, dinner in and overnight stay at One&Only Nyungwe house/Nyungwe (Luxury),Nyungwe Hill top view Hotel (Budget).

 

Day 3. Nyungwe national park, Chimpanzee and canopy trekking.

The day start early morning 5;30 am, with an amazing, packed breakfast you shall be transferred to Park headquarters for insightful chimpanzee trekking briefing. Park guide with extensive experience shall accompany you to impenetrable oldest Nyungwe national park recently listed on world heritage site by UNESCO, on your way to track acrobatic games makes an unforgettable experience that you shall witness to others!  chimpanzee you may spot different types of birds. Once got chimpanzees you shall spend an hour with these amazing creatures, watching their man like shape

You shall return to the Resort at 12 o’clock for a hot lunch served with love.

After your lunch, you shall be transferred to Park headquarters to be briefed for your canopy walk experience at 2pm.

The canopy walkway in Nyungwe National Park, Rwanda is a perfect paradise for discerning travelers in search of a quiet place to reconnect with nature. It is an exhilarating experience to walk on a suspended bridge of 70 meters above and 160 meters of long walk, that takes about two hours in quite natural forest. From the canopy walkway, visitors can enjoy stunning views of the ancient forest and it’s diverse wildlife.

 

After this wonderful memorable experience, you shall return to the hotel and overnight stay.

 

Day 4. Nyungwe- Akagera National park.

Early breakfast, check out and transfer to Akagera national park. It will take 5hours to 6hours maximum to reach to this beautiful destination home of different wild animals. You shall stopover in Kibuye for lunch at Cleo lake Kivu Hotel . After lunch, you shall proceed with transfer to Akagera national park and check in at Akagera Game Lodge.

 

Day 5. Akagera game drive.

After breakfast, you shall get packed lunch, and proceed with game drive starting from Southern part of Akagera national park to North gate. This will take about five to six hours having remarkable moment of watching different mammals including big five thousands of antelope and zebras, distinguished lovely birds to watch, reptiles like crocodile, different types of snakes…

After this wonderful memorable experience, you shall check in at Matis Epic Hotel.

 

Day 6: Transfer to Volcanoes national park.

Enjoying breakfast and transfer to Volcanoes national park. It is approximately 4 to 5 hours drive. Check in at five volcanoes.

Five Volcanoes located on the road going to Volcanoes Park Headquarters is not only the perfect starting point to go for different activities that the Volcanoes National Park is offering but also gives you lot of opportunities to rest and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the Lodge with experienced caring staff always striving for making your stay pleasant remarkable.

Day 7. Gorilla trekking and community activities.

Early breakfast (6:am )and head to park headquarters where you will get briefing about your gorilla trekking. You shall be transferred to starting point of a guided walk to your lifetime experience of Gorilla trekking   with highly experienced park guides.

Volcanoes National Park is a beautiful and diverse park that is home to a variety of wildlife, most famous residents are the mountain gorillas. Mountain gorillas are the largest primates in the world, and they are one of the most endangered. There are only about 1,000 mountain gorillas left in the wild, and Volcanoes National Park is home to about half of them.

After the wonderful experience, you will have a hot lunch at resort. Afternoon relaxation at Hotel.

Optional , at 2PM you can visit beyond Gorilla experience which is close to resort It is community activities that will offer you nice experience related to Rwandan culture and their way of living in their local community.

Exploring community activities in Rwanda is a great way to learn about the country’s culture and traditions, as well as  supporting  local communities and conservations. Here are some ideas for community activities that you can enjoy in Rwanda:

  • Cooking class: Learn how to make traditional Rwandan dishes, such as ibihaza (Pumpkins),amashaza (peas& potatoes),…
  • Banana beer and banana juice brewery: Along with local brewers,you will be part of brewing   team in the process of making naturally banana beer/Juice, and try finished products.
  • Go on a community walk: Take a guided walk through a local community to learn about the lives of the people and to see some of the development projects that are underway.
  • Participate in a community project: There are a number of community projects in Rwanda that you can participate in, such as teaching English in a local school, planting trees, or helping to build a community center, offering goat to community…

 After this memorable experience, you shall be transferred at your hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 8. Golden monkey trekking and departure.

Early breakfast at the resort (6am), Transferred to Park Headquarters for Golden monkey trek briefing, Transferred to starting point where you will be accompanied by Highly experienced park guide to offer you all information that you might need.

Golden monkeys are one of the most beautiful and unique creatures in the world. Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda is one of the best places to see golden monkeys in their natural habitat.

Golden monkeys are small, active monkeys with bright golden fur. A golden monkey trek in Volcanoes National Park is an unforgettable experience you cannot miss! Visitors are led by our experienced guides in walkable distance from park headquarters and spend one-hour observing Golden monkey behaviors as you take pictures of your great memories. Golden monkeys are very playful and curious animals, they often come close to visitors.

After this remarkable experience, you will return to Lodge/Hotel/resort, get a lunch, and check out to proceed with transfer to Kigali which takes to 3hour drive. Once arrived in Kigali, you shall be transferred to Kigali airport for your outbound flight.
